With her prime influences tagged as Joni Mitchell and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders the REDHEAD agenda is to create music that not only rocks the audience, but has them hanging off every word.
Keynes says: “…In my experience music is a powerful communicator and motivator for change and I aim to write music for the times we live in. If it rocks us, so be it… if it gently moves us, so be it. Ultimately, it connects us.”
Great songs, butt-tight instrumentation, soaring vocals and a mission: REDHEAD’s debut album is scheduled for release in June 2008.
- “…Susie Keynes has created a work of great emotional depth. Her soaring, passionate vocals demonstrate her ability to cross genres with ease... Her compositions are honest and intelligent and show an artist who reveals herself to us in a wonderful naturalistic style” – CD Baby
- “Another favorite is Keynes’ song ‘Peace.’ It sounds less written than reaped from the sky…” —
Madeline Lecocq, Weird Sisters West, Vancouver, BC
- “Susie’s warm and soulful voice make it a pleasure to follow her through her musical journey… a musical experience to be had again and again.” — Greg Bridges, KPFA 94.1FM San Francisco, CA
